2025 is the 20th jubilee year of my working career as an artist. I graduated in 2005 with BA Fine Art Painting degree in London. Since then I have worked in Finland and studied further in Tampere and Turku (MA). I currently live and work in Tampere, Finland.

About Girls and Sticks
Story telling intertwines with history writing and it is impossible to separate them. Fairytale is still present in molding our reality today and the most convincing narrative is chosen in favor of whoever arises most emotion. History of storytelling has a scent of testosterone and growing from boy to man is described as a crucible. At the edge of a page there is a girl who stays a girl. In my paintings the girl is however a metaphor for freedom of expression and revolution.
I paint with ancient egg tempera technique where pigment is mixed with egg yolk and other substances. The painting process is time consuming and laborious which I feel has a special value amongst fast flowing images of today. For me painting is remembering, documenting and thinking.
